Dipping Oils & Olives

Created as a specialty product line for Harry & David. A slim, ribbon-like label allows the product to shine through while the composition mimics the content’s tendency to separate towards the bottom of the bottle. Letters re-created from a 1930s type sample and a warm color palette add to the premium yet approachable feel.

Project Scope: custom typography, labels, jar kerchiefs

Boise State Admissions

Youth-centric typography constrained within a strict grid system gives the Boise State University 2009 admissions book an edgy yet respectable feel. A major selling point of the campus (its proximity to outdoor recreation) is put front and center with full page “big sky” photography. The 32 page perfect bound book is covered with a wraparound jacket that can be removed and used as a poster.

Project Scope: 32-page book with removable jacket/poster

Lan Su Chinese Garden

The new Lan Su Chinese Garden visitor guide’s die-cut cover frames original Chinese scroll artwork and an invitation to “enter the wonderland”. Spot illustrations reinforce key elements and themes that educate visitors about another worldview; one that places emphasis on nature to find true meaning. Information is easily found using the always available map flap and tiered index-style pages, making sure visitors don’t feel lost and are easily able to explore every nook and cranny of the garden.

The annual appeal letter is formatted as a long scroll-like document and a bookmark gift is included to encourage the pursuit of being a life long student, a core value of Chinese scholars.

Under the Table with Jen

Prolific food writer Jen S. has full control over her content through a custom built WordPress site. Cute hand-drawn illustrations of food, food, and more food adorn every nook and cranny of her online compendium. At each page refresh a new tablecloth is unfurled; a metaphor that is repeated on her business cards, which each contain a pithy mash-up of classic literature and food storytelling. A DYI clock project tailors time to Jen’s world – it’s pickle-o-clock, must be time for a snack!

Tefron Sportswear

A seamless fabric manufacturer based in Israel, Tefron’s brand employs high-fashion photography and minimalistic, cutting edge design elements. An accordion fold holiday card whispers of a modern pin-up calendar, featuring three seamless sportswear beauties. A tech-inspired snowflake pattern graces the back with key words and address in the stripes. A series of icons representing fabric properties are used on hangtags and information materials.
